In yesterday’s blog post, I mentioned a project I’ve been working on that has been taking up a lot of my time – today I’m going to announce what it is… I’ve been creating a 3 month workout program, and today I’m ready to publish it as an ebook!
Over the past several years, I’ve tried various workout programs, as well as written many of my own. I’ve had the best results with 3 main styles of training (suspension training, weight lifting, and kickboxing), so I decided to combine the three into one, simple workout program for women. Now this program bucks a lot of trends in women’s fitness (thus the title, Insurgent Fitness). For instance, most women’s programs call for lots of cardio, with some light weights thrown in for “toning”. This program includes a lot of strength training with heavy weights, for low reps, since I believe that is the best way for women to burn fat and gain strength. The beauty of this program is that it will generate results for anyone – no matter what fitness level you are at, and no matter what your goals are. If you are looking to lose weight, lifting weights and kickboxing have proven themselves as 2 of the most efficient and effective ways to torch fat both during and after your workout. If you want to gain strength in your upper body (something many women lack), using gymnastics rings will help you build strength fast, not just in your main muscle groups, but around your joints and in your smaller stabilizing muscles as well. NOTE: This program can be done without gymnastics rings if you don’t have anywhere to hang them, but for best results I recommend you find a way to incorporate ring training into your routine. You can also do kickboxing without a heavy bag (shadow boxing). It will still burn a ton of calories and increase your power, speed and endurance, but actually hitting a heavy bag will yield greater results in a shorter period of time. Weights are a must, and there are several options to choose from (explained in detail in the book).
