It’s been awhile since I’ve shared one of my own workouts. I promise that doesn’t mean I haven’t been working out, I’m just not exclusively writing about fitness anymore. I’ve expanded my “genre,” if you will, to include anything that has to do with my desire to live life simply. Since fitness is such a big part of my life, you’ll still be seeing lots of posts on health and fitness – like this one.
Below is the workout I did Wednesday night. I wanted to target my shoulder and upper back muscles, since those are the two fundamental muscle groups that not only define your upper body muscles, but also functionally make you a stronger, more capable person in everyday life.
As usual when I write a workout like this, my shoulders, back and arms are still pleasantly sore two days later.
Here it is:
5 rounds, superset – 5 pull-ups, 8 dumbbell rows (per side, 35 lbs.)
1 song (approx. 4 minutes) – arm circles or ballet swan arms
3 rounds – 10 push-ups
1 song (approx. 4 minutes) – farmer carry (35 lbs. per arm)
5 rounds – 8 reps per arm, single arm shoulder press (35 lbs.)
3 rounds – single arm dumbbell snatch x 8 reps
It took me about 50 minutes to complete this workout.
